David Murray is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner and Certified Athletic Therapist with over 28 years of clinical and field experience. He currently treats a full caseload of patients of all ages with a variety of physical disorders and impairments.
David began his post-secondary education at Western University, where he received a degree in Physical Education. He also completed post-graduate Masters of Science degree in Kinesiology from McMaster University, postgraduate diplomas in Athletic Therapy from Sheridan College, where he graduated with high honours, and Osteopathic Manual Practice from the Canadian College of Osteopathy. With his Osteopathic and Masters studies, David focused his research on blood flow in individuals with spinal cord injuries. Currently, David continues to advance his knowledge and skills through further post-graduate studies in Clinical Neuroscience.
In addition to clinic life at the Toronto Rock Sports Medicine & Wellness Centre, David was a member of the Sport Medicine Team at McMaster University from 1997 – 2023, working as a clinical practitioner, field therapist, and student supervisor.
David has been the Head Athletic Therapist of the Toronto Rock Professional Lacrosse Team since the franchise’s inception in 1998. David’s lacrosse experience has extended to the international level we well, where he was a member of the Sports Medicine Teams for Team Canada at the 2002 & 2006 Men’s World Field Lacrosse Championships, the 2003 Men’s World Indoor Lacrosse Championship, and the 2022 Men’s U21 World Field Lacrosse Championships.

Julia has been passionate about health, exercise, and medicine from an early age. Growing up she led an active lifestyle participating competitively in basketball and track & field for many years. Having endured injuries during her athletic career, she underwent rehabilitation alongside an Athletic Therapist (AT) which led her to developing a love for rehabilitation and patient care. Following this interest, Julia graduated from Sheridan College in April 2023 with an Honors Bachelor of Applied Health Sciences/Certificate in Athletic Therapy. Julia is a Certified Athletic Therapist granted with the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association and holds a Certificate as a First Responder.
During her time as an Athletic Therapist, Julia is grateful to have had the opportunity to work for many different universities and sporting teams providing on field coverage as well as clinical rehabilitation to athletes. Julia’s sideline experience includes work with men’s and women’s varsity sports teams including basketball, volleyball, soccer, rugby and hockey. Julia has also worked alongside the medical team for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats CFL Football team through training camp and into the 2022 season. Currently, Julia provides athletic therapy coverage for the Burlington Stampeders Football Team, Stoney Creek Camels Rugby teams, Rockstar Elite League here at the Toronto Rock Athletic Centre in addition to providing coverage for many large sporting tournaments.

Karlie is currently a student at McMaster university where she is completing her fourth year and will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2024. Karlie first became interested in human movement and biomechanics during her 14 years as a competitive dancer. Following the completion of her competitive career, Karlie went on to instruct youth dance classes and spent time volunteering with lacrosse teams in the greater Toronto area. Dr. Carla Edwards is a Sports Psychiatrist whose practice focuses on the treatment of mental illness and psychological struggles in athletes. In her clinical practice, Dr. Edwards supports athletes from numerous National Sport Organizations, professional sports teams, Canadian Universities and youth sports organizations. She is the team psychiatrist for the Hamilton Tiger Cats and the company psychiatrist for the National Ballet of Canada. She has authored several book chapters and journal articles about the topics of Psychiatric Emergencies, Depression, Maltreatment, and Personality Disorders in sport, as well as the role of the Interdisciplinary Support Team in supporting athletes with mental illness. She is the current President of the International Society for Sports Psychiatry and sits on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Academy of Sports and Exercise Medicine and the Student Athlete Mental Health Initiative. Emily graduated from the University of Alberta in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. After working as a Kinesiologist and Strength and Conditioning Coach, Emily returned to the University of Alberta in 2015 and completed a Master of Science in Physical Therapy. Following graduation, Emily went on to obtain additional certification in spinal manipulation, functional dry needling and concussion management. She recently completed a Master of Clinical Science in Advanced Healthcare Practice in the field of Comprehensive Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy at Western University. Emily is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapist as well as a member of both the sport and manual therapy divisions of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Emily joins the team at the Toronto Rock Sport Medicine and Wellness Centre having previously worked alongside the Canadian Armed Forces as a civilian Physiotherapist for 8 years. On the sideline, Emily has worked with a variety of sports including lacrosse, baseball, soccer, rugby and basketball. Most recently working with the Team Canada at the Box Lacrosse World Championships and with the Edmonton Miners Lacrosse Club where she had the privilege of joining them at the 2022 Minto Cup. Emily is the current Physiotherapist for the Toronto Rock and the Oakville Rock Sr. B Team.
